Gencon 2005
The members of COLA just attended the Indianapolis gaming and media convention named GENCON this weekend and a full weekend of fun was had by all. The event included many workshops and portfolio reviews of Chris Hll, Scott Web and Steve Gilberts. There was a meet and greet with the editors of the Book of Dark Wisdom, William and Debra John and a book signing of sorts in the lobby of the Westin Hotel for the editors. Steve Gilberts sold an original painting to William and Debra from the just released gaming companion book Son's of New York or SONY for short with some creatures from that world. Way to go Steve! Scott is working on a project for a Wizards of the Coast art director for a series of fancy sculpted book jackets for a gift to some special folks in the industry. Chris Hill is in a landscape show at the Kentucky Museum of art and Craft. Cindy Webb won the Best of Show costume award at Conglomerations last weekend.
Several of the members are going to Dragoncon labor day weekend to show their work again and attend several workshops as well. We will keep a log of what they learn along the way.
